Sent to everyones email box in the office…

More enjoyable than the email, was the expressions on peoples faces are they tried to figure it out.

The knock-on effect from the sub prime crisis is being severely felt in the Japanese market and shows no sign of letting up.

In the last 7 days: Origami Bank has folded, Sumo Bank has gone belly up and Bonsai Bank has announced plans to cutback some of its branches. Yesterday it was announced that Karaoke Bank is up for sale and more than likely will go for a song.

Today shares in Kamikaze Bank were suspended after they nose-dived and 500 back-office staff at Karate Bank also got the chop.

Analysts report that there is something fishy going on at Sushi bank and staff fear they may get a raw deal.

Photos, Price and Days On Market

November 27th, 2007 Photography 1 Comment »

Stumbled onto a gem of a post at Blog.FranklyRealty.com in Buyers! Don’t Skip Photoless Listings. Save $15,000. Well worth checking out. The key points being…

I also found listings with more photos sold faster (duh). Here are the photos to Days on Market (DOM, not the champagne) analysis:

  • 1 Photo = 70 DOM Avg
  • 6 Photos = 40 DOM
  • 16-19 = 36 DOM
  • 20 MAX= 32 DOM

And…

Listings with fewer photos sold for less.

  • 1 Photo= 91.2% of Original Price
  • 6 Or more= 95% of Original Price

So get some photos and get it sold faster and for more is the guts of the message.

Also this isn’t even taking into account whether the photos were any good or not. Just pure quantity of photos.

Now imagine what good photos would do to those numbers!

Busy As Bee

Posting has been way off thanks to many good and fun things happening all around me and generally crunched for time.

Here’s a good photo story…

The house has been sitting on the market for eight months. I mean dead on the market. No showings for months. Vacant.

The listing agent calls me in to shoot photos…

I’m telling you – good photos sell homes.
